Swirling Baroque Glass for Doors

You've made your decision. A plain wooden door is not exactly for you. You want a door that allows in some light. So you've decided to get a door that includes several lites. Sounds good - but there's one more thing you may have forgotten.

Decorative Glass

There are all sorts of custom glass designs that you can choose from to give your door even more personality and make it a door that is unique to your home and those around it. This is an excellent choice and has an amazing style that can be changed even more than you might initially think.

Baroque glass is glass that has been given a heavy texture and a lot of swirls. A quick look at images and you may notice that a lot of them include color. Blue on clear baroque glass. Green on clear baroque glass. Black on clear baroque glass, etc. While you can have color added into your glass if you want, it isn't a requirement. Typically it is made with a lightly colored cathedral glass and may be combined with a darker opalescent color that has been swirled into it. The choice is ultimately yours. The point of this glass type glass is to give some distortion to the glass as well as a unique look. No two pieces of glass will be the same.

If clear glass isn't enjoyable enough for you, baroque glass can be just what you are looking for. It's an ideal choice if you want just a slight amount of distortion in your door lites, but is still clear enough to allow light to come through. If you do choose colored baroque glass, light will still be able to come through, though parts will be colored. You may want to take this effect into account before you decide if you want colored swirls mixed in or not.

The lites placed in doors are usually made with tempered glass. However, many types of decorative glass are unable to be tempered due to the nature of how they are crafted in order to obtain the desired design. But don't worry. A qualified company who offers decorative glass will place the baroque glass lite between two pieces of tempered glass. This is skillfully done so it will look as though the lite is a single piece of glass. The lite will be stronger and still retain the beautiful look you hoped for.
